Itinerary
We will meet in Anopoli, Crete.
We begin our tour by embarking on a thrilling journey to Pachnes Mountain in the back of open trucks. The fun starts here as we feel the wind in our hair sitting in the back of the trucks as we slowly make our way up the mountains getting spectacular views of Sfakia and the southern coastline.
After a scenic one-hour drive, we’ll reach the start of the trail. Together, we will ascend to the summit of Pachnes, reaching it just in time to witness a mesmerizing sunset. Prepare to be captivated as you overlook the entire island of Crete, taking in the vast expanse before you.
We will pause at the summit for a small picnic, immersing ourselves in the peaceful atmosphere of the white mountains and from here we will take some time to explore the surrounding area. In total we will spend approximately 4-5 hours on trail.
Upon reaching the base of Pachnes, our trucks will be waiting to transport us back to Anopoli. We will conclude the tour with a delectable meal at a local taverna, savoring the flavors of traditional Cretan cuisine.
Route
Approximately two to three hours of hiking, covering a distance of four miles (6 kilometers) with a vertical gain of 1,400 feet (400 metres) to the summit plus bonus miles as desired. We recommend bringing a long sleeve top or windbreaker as it may be cold on the summit. Additionally, please ensure you have enough water for the duration of the tour and any other snacks you may wish to enjoy

Please note we will check the weather the day before as if too windy we will not be able to summit.
